This year is going to be another spectacular summer on the water. Following is a preview of some of the exciting events that will be occurring this summer (a mailer will be coming to you soon). Please place these dates on your calendar:

Friday, June 13 from 9-5 – Lake Clean Up Day
• Meet at Halls/Lakemont Marina at 9 a.m..
• Please come help us keep our lake beautiful and have fun with your lake neighbors at the same time.

Saturday, June 14 – 2008 Lake Rabun Tour of Homes – “A Grand Voyage to Exotic Ports of Call and Unique Excursions”
Your LRA Passport will take you on an adventure where you will:
• Rock with Dan & Sue Lipson at “Camp Jam”
• Experience the magic of Lake Como at The Tree House, the home of Spring and Tom Asher
• Enjoy a picnic and some bird watching at Kingfisher with the Edwards Family
• Travel to old time Lakemont at Moose Mansion with Margie Stockton and Harry Marshall
• Enjoy items collected from Denny and Anne Webb’s worldwide travels at The Lilipad
• James and Melisa Jernigan say “let them eat cake” at Cake at the Lake, a bit of Provence on Lake Rabun

Passports are limited and are selling briskly. To ensure your spot on the tour, send your checks in today or bring your checkbook to the Sunday meeting.

Also, volunteers are still needed for docents, dock workers and other positions. Please contact Michael McGaughey at Michael@lakerabun.com if you can help out.

Saturday, June 21 – Tiger Mountain Vineyard Wine Tasting. 100% of the proceeds benefits the LRA Foundation.

Thursday, July 3rd – Golf Benefit at Kingwood Golf Resort
• 8:30 registration and coffee
• 9:30 shotgun tee off
• Please register early. Spots are limited to LRA members and their guests until June 14th. Then the tournament will be opened to others if space is available.

Friday, July 4th – BBQ/Foxfire Boys
• 6 p.m. at the Pavilion
• BBQ and fixins’ from the Dillard House plus music by the Foxfire Boys

Saturday, July 5th – 2nd Annual Rabun Ramble
• This is a 5K/10K road race that you will want to participate in! Running along our beautiful lake with good friends and family is guaranteed to be a great experience!! For more information.

Saturday, July 5th – Fireworks on the Lake
• Dusk (9:30 p.m.) at the Earthen Dam

Sunday, July 6th – Lake Rabun Wood Boat Regatta
• The regatta will begin at the dam at 10:30 a.m.
